Today, Palm Sunday, April 9, 2017, as we wake up in America the news tells us more bombs have exploded in Egyptian Coptic Christian Churches during their Palm Sunday services. Many worshipers are dead or wounded. This is not a new story of religious persecution of Christians in countries where they are minorities, and the latest victims are are added to the increasing number of martyrs in these Last Days. The pictured tattoo is a practice of the Coptic believers, who often receive this marking as early as age twelve. You can not hide your faith in Christ living in Egypt with this tattoo. We owe much to this ancient expression of Christianity, including the transmission of the text of the Bible over the centuries. The Coptic community is a forgiving people who love the Lord. Many of them have experienced the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in their worship and prayer. So while Americans rise this morning trying to think of a good reason not to go to church, as they admire their personal tattoos they feel makes them special, Coptic Christians in Egypt are marked with the Cross and dying for the Lord at church. God bless the Coptic Christians of Egypt!Mat
