When Aquaman visits Atlantis, he notes there is a bridge into the city. He learns that it is a remnant of another time, apparently. The bridge has more than a passing resemblance to Bifrost in Asgaard. It would seem we could conceivably claim that Atlanteans and the Asgaardians, both far advanced in terms of earth's technology, and both possessing technology that almost appears to be magical, could come from Asgaard or even some earlier place. If so, we have Thor and Aquaman (Marvel and DC) in the same universe, at least as far as these superheroes go. For that matter, maybe both Asgaard and Atlantis are either from, or related to Krypton. And so it goes. Also interesting is that Aquaman is called King Arthur. And so we have multiple mythologies, perhaps, intersecting in Aquaman.

Don't forget the Tolkien universe. The land of Numenor where Aragorn's people came from was Atlantis, it sunk beneath the sea when they rebelled. Now there is a magic bridge between middle-earth and the undying lands in the west. Guess its all coming together now.

They sure have reinvented Aquaman. When my son was little and watched Justice League on Saturday mornings I remember Aquaman was a boring little blond guy wearing orange and green tights. I guess he got a makeover along the way
