I'm planning a trip there this summer, and I am wondering if some of you might have some good ideas, things to see, things to avoid, etc.?

It's one of the most incredible places on the planet. We love to camp Yellowstone. Start trying to book your campsite or hotel right now...they're probably already booked. If you're persistent enough, you may be able to grab a spot.Wildlife, geography, weather...everything is incredible.In July, you'll have temps at 80 at noon and in the 30s-40s at night.

If you're driving ...

If you're driving, try going in through Jackson Hole and exiting through Cody (or the other way around). Cody has a great western museum (or they did last time I was there) and on the way in is Big Horn National Park. Jackson Hole has some great mountain man stuff and the Grand Tetons is a must see as you head up to Yellowstone. Last time my wife and I were there is was cold and wet, but it was already August. They had Christmas music playing in one of the gift shops (in the park) and we asked why. They said a few years before they had had a major snow storm on that date. We believed them, it was cold.

I echo Travis. I cannot think of a thing to avoid. The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone is beautiful. But then the fact that there is steam seeping out of the ground many places is amazing. I tell you if I had been an explorer in early USA, I would have left, thinking it was about to explode. ha! Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/

Its all mostly true, Aaron, but ya really do probly want to avoid walkin up to one a them steam holes an lookin down in it. Ya might git a burst a steam an have ya eyebrows singed off.

just after the Northern entry there is a small community with a PO, also stores & restaurants selling tourist stuff and food. There is one beautiful sulfur spring that has some marvelous color. It is more like a sulfur mound that has been forming for thousands of years. We saw caribou in this community up on the porches and board walk. Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/

Been twice, and it is amazing. First time we took a tour bus through with some company that picked us up in Gardiner Montana at the very northern entrance to Yellowstone. It was great and the lady had tons of information. She took us to all the high points around the park and explained a lot as we went through. It was an all day trip. Was worth it. No matter what you do, you will not be disappointed
