I guess the jacket (and its message) was associated with the immigration policies along the southern border. What I would like to see is a discussion of the failure of Latin America to govern their countries and provide for their citizens. Without congress (and the president) providing leadership in the form of an overhaul of immigration legislation, our nations is trapped between the rule of law (the old immigration laws) and the demands for compassion (charity) for those braking the law.Even in the church world, we have become so dependent on our growth being related to immigration (both legal and illegal) that we find ourselves (at least leadership) siding with those who brake the law, less we offend our Latin American brothers and sisters. If immigration laws do not matter (for the sake of compassion), than on this side of the border we need to overlook a few more laws (as illegal immigrants do) - no need for driver's licenses or insurance - no need for health insurance, just use the ER as your doctor (don't give them you name/SSN so they can't bill you) - no need for payroll taxes and deductions, or a minimum wage - no need for contractors licenses or permits (its just between us anyway), and cash will be fine - no need for health inspections for food handlers -childcare workers to have background checks - and the list goes on.Soon we will be just like Latin America - run by dictators, elite families, drug cartels and gangs. American will become Venezuela.I know in my denomination there is always pressure to make some kind of supportive statement concerning the polite of immigrants (well, Latin Americans, they don't seem to concerned about the rest of the world). I would like to see a matching resolution calling for Christians (church members) in countries of Latin America to overthrow the corrupt governments. We should encourage our government to arm and support these revolutions and we should send force to those countries to eliminate the cartels and the gangs. Lets do the Latin American custom of lining up the dictators, gang members and elite rulers against a wall and shot them - who needs a trail - we don't need no stinkin badges! Mat
