| I lived in the Mountains of NC at that time and I thought the song, I saw mama Kissing Santa Claus was a funny song. But in 1952 the Catholic Church banned the song as ungodly.Seems ALL BELIEFS and denominations become more liberal as time goes on. My daddy was sure that 'Rock around the Clock' was gonna send me (and a lotta kids) to hell! I reckon it coulda Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]://shipslog-jack.blogspot.com/ |

| The RCC venerate saints like St. Nicholas. So the song was probably seen as offensive for that reason |

| Certainly, by mega amounts!I even think maybe Baptists, some Methodists and a few Presbyterians might make it to heaven Since then I have met many Catholics, Some I have no doubt are Christians, probably better suited than I.I have also noticed that the COG has changed, nearly an about face on many stands, some even don't think investing in stocks and bonds is a sin, and it is accepted. I hear even some preachers go to the show now.Of course most of that is tongue in cheek although the changes since 1952 in my thinking and our denominations. Many are for the better. JMHO. | Glad you have changed Cojak. If we are always seeking truth we will find it and change will be always in the making. We can only learn from others what they have been taught. Sometimes we need to get outside of our church, area, comfort zone and we are pleasantly surprised about what truth we may find. |
