I heard someone say recently that 2 & 3 John were written before 1 John. Is this true and why did 2/3 come before 1

Keep in mind that there's really no such thing as 1 John, 2 John, or 3 John. There are three distinct epistles that were written by John.1 John was much larger than the other two and was written for a more general audience, and so this is the ordering you would see when a canon was being assembled. (Please note that I'm not suggesting the church chose the canon, but the church did recognize the canon and assembled what they recognized in a way that seemed orderly.)

Keep in mind too that 3 John 2was written to guarantee the believer's financial/material filthy rich overabundance and to ensure that no believer ever has a sniffle.

There are times I think preachers shouldn't be allowed to read the Bible. It twists their mind! Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/
