of the closet that is. Celebrated it with them, how proud they were for his courage, and wished him hope in his new friends' 'love' and 'support'. Just ducky. The same college back in the day would have tried to help them overcome their sin or shown them the door if they refused, but I guess its a new season. They want to help them discover their perversion.I don't want to name the school since I will just be trashed for daring to mention it here, but its the same one encourages participation in women's marches as long as they are feminist ones and not against abortion. The same one where the same faculty provided safe-spaces for the lgbtq's to hide when Trump was elected.

surely not in Tennessee! Since I have no idea.It is a new season. It is a new world. It is a time when there is no 'secrecy' or trust in the highest places. People will go on TV to destroy someone for money.I know a college kid, great hopes and aspirations. Remember he came out, but basically lost a great future in Pro ball. Lots of folks congratulated him for coming out. I think he wished he had remained in the closet or suppressed the wild crazy perverted desires. Anyway I ain't happy with a society that seems to promote the perverted side. Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/

Here is the deal, if by comin out, you are sayin that this school facilitated a homosexual by celebrating them for their courage to come out and own their gayness, an rather than lovingly tell them it is a sin to practice homosexuality they are encouraged and advocated, it don't matter if it is Lee, PTS, the Gen Overseer, or Bishop JimmyJohn Jones from Podunk, Arkansas, IT IS WRONG. IT VIOLATES COG DOCTRINE.

Does COG doctrine matter at Lee anymore?Meaning: Is it a requirement or did they slip that one by us?I truly don't know

I'm not COG, but do have a great deal of interest (and history) with both COG and Lee. From discussion here, and some things said to me by COG pastors and people who live in Cleveland, how valid are these assertions and how can the be documented? I have met COG pastors who said they would no longer recommend Lee to their church kids, and yet I have met some great people who have gone to Lee. Is it just becoming another private university, or is it still the bulwark of Christian Education in the COG. This is the 100th year of Lee, and much is being made of its beginnings, but what of its future? Would F. J. Lee be pleased the school is named after him?I have met some great Christian leaders who attend state schools. Great education, half the cost (or less) and all the issues of our culture. They chose not to let the culture deflect them from their educational goals.Just asking.

We haven't encouraged any of our youth to attend there in the last few years for a few reasons:Distance & additional travel requirementsCost compared to closer schoolsLoose standardsThey've compromised to gain fundingOur youth have come home from Lee & many times they would scoff at the idea that CoG leadership would never allow a gay kid to attend. After asking what was being done about those who live alternative lifestyles we were told as long as they don't make themselves known publicly they'll be left alone.Sounds like that is now in the past.I'm sad to hear many things from our students who have been there & who went there believing that there was a school that held a high moral standard & didn't allow controversial lifestyles, only to come home disappointed.Dance clubs are full on Saturday nights with many of Lee students. The area bar scene is partly funded by Lee kids. Unfortunately it's not a cut above school any more & honestly I can't bring myself to print the things that have been shared in confidence but it sure would help if certain leadership opened their eyes & took a solid stand against sinful living.Surely these cannot be the CoG leaders of our future! Empty nest syndrome is for the birds!Email me at: [email protected] planters are focused on just one thing ...introducing people to Jesus!

I definitely would say it would be sinful to encourage a Lee student (or anyone else) to embrace their homosexual desires as good instead of sinful. That said, regarding students who weren’t ‘out,’ it is not clear what the school could really do. Kick all the guys out who seemed gay? Can you say lawsuit? And as far as kids going out to area bars, I'm guessing the school probably doesn’t have the time, personnel or the energy to keep constant track of students to prevent that from happening.
