| Post subject: | Carolyn Smith: My First Sermon |
| I've been pondering about sharing this but decided I would.I preached my first sermon last Sunday. My pastor had to be out of town and asked me to minister on Sunday morning. My first reaction was, Are you kidding? He assured me he was not and asked me to pray about it. I am really comfortable with teaching, but I do not consider myself a preacher. I mean, I know there's a call on my life, and it's been expressed in several ways. Singing, children's ministry, teaching...but preaching?So I prayed and I felt the Lord say, I've opened this door...are you going to step through it? So, I did. I sought the Lord and He gave me a word to share, something I'd never studied before. The Lord even gave me a visual illustration to try to bring the point home. I was pretty nervous about it, but it went well. To God be the glory! (And I'm glad that's over! More of Him...less of me.twitter.com/camiracle77www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=691241499&ref=name |

| Congratulations, Carolyn. What an honor to share God's Word from the pulpit. You should be proud of yourself for stepping up when the opportunity presented itself. This is a first for me also. Well, sort of... I used to post in the 90's on this board, and recently re-registered. Looking forward to reading more of your posts, and that of others.Blessings |
