Our interest began because of a nice flyer at our front door here in Deltona. I am sure they rang the bell, but we are normally in the motor home out back. The timing was good. (I never over look divine guidance here) We are presently looking for a place to worship when we are in this area so we decided to give it a try.We have not heard the local pastor preach because the evangelist, while we were there, was Ron Lawhon, a pastor from Dover Delaware.I must say that the delivery and sermons to this small group of about 40, were VERY GOOD, Biblical and logical. I could also understand about 90% of the delivery. That is a plus for me.The sermons would be described by COG pastors as Camp meeting Quality. My wife and I agreed the preaching was the best we have heard in awhile. We will probably return. My wife's opinion: Honey, that is a lot like services we had when I was a young girl in the COG. The last sermon was over an hour and contrary to my normal actions, I was not ready to leave. I remember hearing ministers who could hold your attention, Charles Conn comes to mind. I only heard him for one week, but I still remember I could have listened twice as long.Lawhon was converted in the Christian Fellowship Ministries church. Had he been converted in the COG I am sure he would have risen to the ADmin area, like many of our leaders. But he is sold on the CFM and has built pastors a large church in Dover. The next time we pass thru Delaware we will look his church up.I am anxious to learn more, Three services so far, do not a convert make. Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/

Ok.www.apologeticsindex.org/c105.html Hey Raf, good to see you Shipmate. Thanks for the pointer. Yes interesting stuff. QW gave me a starting place to start looking. We are looking for a place close by to worship, this came up and we were impressed at the evangelistic fervor. Anyway, thanks again and hope you are well! The church we have been visiting is a store front. It is to the point of being packed. By packed I mean between 40-50 in attendance. My home church seats about 250, Sunday morn. we are not hitting about 100 in worship. But on Sun nite and Wed we have from 10-30it varies. Some of the group suggested we get closer together so the pastor isn't addressing 2 in the middle 8 on the left and 10 on the right. No way will these good folk move. They are good folk I love 'em every one.But here at this little church the pastor asked every one that would to move to the front and leave the back seats for visitors. (They had visitors since we were there who looked for seats in the rear and someone got people to move to give them seats at the rear,) When the pastor asked, People immediately rose and moved to the front.. I smiled, I was actually pleased that attendees did exactly what the pastor asked.the church is big on fellowship. The lady that sat beside us said she had never attended a Pentecostal service. She was in the grocery store and could not reach the row she needed, and the pastor Whom she did not know, volunteered to get ir for her, introduced himself and invited her to church. They talked for awhile and she attended the next week. got saved and has attended now for 3 years.Thanksgiving Testimony after testimony from drunks, homeless, single mothers, etc. As far as I can see, it is a soul saving station. So far the church is really a breath of fresh air. I keep looking for the warning signs I have read about, but also tell myself, much of the negative things I have read will probably come directly from the pastor, just as in the COG. Many pastors toe the line and others I can only tell by the church name that they are COG.I want to say again, we are and most likely will remain COG. Johathan Martin planted a church in Charlotte, 'Renavontous' . We visited several times. His aim was homeless, druggies and the down cast. Jonathan is a very good preacher. Most of the congregants were your regular COG members from 40miles around. He did reach a few, that his original dream was for, but finally moved from the city to Paw Creek. He had his own problems, but the heart for the down trodden was real. This church we have visited is indeed for the down trodden and is reaching them. They will need to find a larger building soon Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/
