| Post subject: | Dave Dorsey: Trump keeps another promise (L) |
| The Veterans Affairs Department told Congress today they would not be repaying GI bill recipients who were underpaid due to a computer error. The president promised he'd run the country like he runs his businesses, and that is a promise he's keeping.www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/veterans-affairs-dept-tells-congressional-staffers-it-won-t-repay-n941491?cid=sm npd nn tw np |

| I read that article DD, didn't see Trump's name, just congress and a department. I haven't noticed them doing much of what Trump asks, wants or wanted.Maybe we should wait for the final decision to be made. Just sayin' BUT if it ends up being fact, it will be a P-poor action and decision! business or political Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/ |

| I don't think the final say has been made on this. The VA claims it doesn't have the manpower to PAY all the individual schools (as well as the VA) to review all the screwed up claims. If they did that - they wouldn't be able to handle the new claims. Read between the lines: I believe they want a massive infusion of govt cash. This is how standard govt bureaucracy works - which is why you don't want the govt running healthcare. (but I digress) And I would love to give them the cash to clean it up - but the same bureaucracy would screw it up...ask for even more cash...etc...I suspect Trump will direct this to get cleaned up eventually - but that bureaucracy is really fouled up - and implementing stuff without updating the computer system was sad. There must be some way to privatize VA benefits and just delete what we currently have. Then do it with welfare benefits, etc...But then all the DC govt employees would lose jobs - castigating Trump - repeat the cycle. <sigh> I really don't know how the country will ever stop these screw ups - except by Reagan's mantra - govt doesn't solve the problem - they are the problem. Even the things they do that we like - could and should be done more efficiently. I am afraid however the slide to socialism is irreversible. When the govt controls it all - we will have no one else to blame...cause we will be completely dependent on them - and will all get treated like the veterans |

| Post subject: | Cojak: What NBF said |
| Definitely some facts in the things NBF said. I did see this in smaller areas of our Navy Department in DC, find a way to scream for more $ by claiming lack of personnel. I am a firm believer that 'very few' offices in our Government are understaffed. When a department head is at the top of his GS level he needs to add employees to raise his own level, there fore HE/SHE needs more employees. I have seen that on a lower lever first hand, so I do not doubt it happens at higher levels.Anyway, I do know where the buck stops and Trump doesn't mind making the tough decisions. (BUT as I just posted he also makes some stupid TWEETS!) Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/ |
