Is the individual who is operating in this Gift a godly person? Does their life line up with God’s Word (understanding that while God allowed Saul to prophecy in a backslidden state, that is not the normal situation)? DOES THE PROPHET/PROPHETIC WORD COMFORT, EDIFY OR EXHORT ME/THE BODY? See 1 Cor. 14:34. DOES THE PROPHETIC WORD LINE UP WITH THE WORD OF GOD? See 2 Peter 1:215. WAS THE PROPHETIC WORD FULFILLED? See Deut. 18:20-22; Acts 21:116. DOES THE PROPHET/PROPHETIC WORD BRING CONFUSION OR PEACE? See 1 Cor. 14:337.
