Just one way to break such a stranglehold and that is for every member to stop supporting this church with their finances and attendance. Send your tithes and offerings to another COG. Yes this is a drastic thing to do,and it goes against everything you have been taught,but do you want to save this church or allow it to continue to slide into oblivion? In spite of what the state office may think, the local congregation actually does know what is best for themselves “Hell will be filled with people that didn’t cuss, didn’t drink, and may even have been baptized. Why? Because none of those things makes someone a Christian.”

My opinion is we in the COG do need more input from the congregations. Funny how for many years we in the COG felt like our church was voting for a pastor. (Many members do not understand what a 'preference ballot' means. I am a member and I don't understand it myself at times!) Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/
