You may have read the news that the newly elected Representative from Montana, Greg Gianforte, was charged with assault the day before the special election. He allegedly body slammed a reporter. The audio of the event records Gianforte yelling for the reporter to get out (using some language that I would hope a Christian wouldn't feel necessary to use). At first, Gianforte's staff said the reporter had grabbed Gianforte's wrist and pulled away, pulling them both down, but the eyewitnesses and audio don't seem to support that. Some of the comments about this on the internet are a little disconcerting, with some people seeming to brush aside the seriousness of assault or suggesting that assaulting reporters is a good thing.Anyway, Gianforte, attends a non-demoninational church in Bozeman, MT, Grace Bible Church (which incidentally believes in a church culture of male leadership).

Don't do that anymore. As for your aside that his church believes in male leadership - I am not sure what that has to do with what happened here - since I believe the reporter slammed was also male. This was not a football player slugging a woman

I certainly haven't put an anti-trump slant to it.

With as many phones and cameras today, what amazes me is there is no video of the incident. Since audio doesn't come thru to me I am lost'EXCEPT From what I understand the reporter was not invited to this interview it was set up by the ones who became 'witnesses'. I also despise someone who refuses to accept an answer or 'referral' and continues to ask the same thing over and over.I can imagine the frustration of mikes, recorders thrust in front of someone's face, no matter their politics or religion.I also agree the reaction was not proper, but have an idea, that was the intent! Just my own opinion (or intent!) I am always amazed at many politicians who can hold their cool at some questions and bullish attitudes of reporters. And YES I think many reporters push the envelope for such reactions. But I am suspicious...... If I was a pastor I would say, That's ONE! (remember 3 and you are out!) OR ARE YOU STUPID? But thanks for the national coverage maybe the church will get in the news. Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/

Yep, this is a rabbit trail and an observation. I don't know if there is any connection between violence and excluding women from leadership, but if you notice things that churches which believe in male-only leadership say, it might make you start to wonder if there is a connection. I was in a church business meeting once - where one man threatened to kill another - because he was let out of prison for killing his girlfriend on a technicality - his wife took him back in - but everyone knew he did it. Somehow he was on the council. Two men were restrained - and would have slammed one another had several other men not intervened. The man accusing another would later be convicted of molesting his grandchildren. But the place had no male dominated leadership restrictions. So I don't think there is any connection

NBF, there is a difference in saying that male-only leadership the way it is perceived in some churches can correlate to a mentality that says strong arming is a way to solve problems and in saying that ONLY churches that subscribe to that will have those issues. I've just noticed that a lot of proponents of male-only church leadership like to refer to Christian men as warriors.www.youtube.com/watch?v=reIZs8I54Xg

Nope, I'm not having at it; I'm just putting it in my mental anecdote file (along with some other anecdotes).
