I can remember far enough back when Pentecostals avoided Graham. He was not deep enough into the Word, it was said. There is no 'depth' to his sermons, it was said.My daddy appreciated Billy Graham's simple message, Jesus Saves, God Loves YOU. , etc. I learned to listen, I got it. (What daddy saw!) Nothing complicated. Just JESUS!My wife (I sound like Adam) just had to watch the special on Graham's life last night. SO our TV 'woke up!' With our antenna, we found only 2 channels, one was Fox and we got to see the Special. I truly enjoyed it.I had never heard the story of his visiting a combat hospital. The soldier was so damaged he could only be on his stomach and not move his head. he could only stare at the floor through an opening. Billy lay on the floor and slid under the Soldier and looking up at him prayed with him. The tears rained down on Billy.I have heard from 'Fundamental' preachers all my life, Baptists believe you can do anything, and get to heaven. I have never heard Billy Graham nor anyone EVER say that.Anyway, That was one of the best specials I have ever watched. I had to stand close to the TV to hear and read, but I did get involved and I thought I would not.If you did not watch, see if you can find a rerun.... I would bet you would like it!
