Glad to see this for numerous reasons; Among them- Scriptural(Proverbs 11:14) and Representational. Hopefully,

I would like to see a minimum of 15 pastors on the Exec Council.Primarily for the organizational consideration of having a majority voice that is actively from the front-lines of ministry. My recommendation has NOTHING to do with any disdain for COG Executive leadership or with any of the typical good ole boy shots that regularly inform these kinds of conversations. For me it is NOT about some balance of power or achieving democracy...it is simply about having a majority of influencers in the room who the freshest intel from the front-lines of pastoral engagement.

Hope needs to be taken out of the equation. If we are changing bylaws - let's have it spell it what we hope for...instead of just hope

I've got to be honest here: In the end, who's on and who's not, matters very little to me. Without looking, I couldn't name 3 people, currently serving on the Council of 18. Expand away, it won't change how we roll here

The Council of 18 has never really concerned me a great deal. Hard to get excited about expanding something that doesn't directly concern me

Applaud Executive Council and I would think World Missions Leadership as well for what seems

It is a dilution of opinion on the state side. Not a fan of this we need to separate global and stateside interests. Unless there are limits to where there is a guaranteed minimum of state side pastoral voices. I don’t see it fixing anything. I asked someone in the loop why it was happening he rolled his eyes and said because it is biblical don’t you know there were 24 disciples. I laughed. But still I want to know the real reason... who is scared of losing? This is like buying a size 12 shoe when your feet are size 6. It’s not going to work. Feet ain’t that big it is like running with clown shoes
