My last hitch in the USN I taught Naval Intelligence Processing (NIPS). My skipper called me in one day for a talk. (I was much older than he). Sit down Chief, the only time in my career I sat in a CO's office. I have stood outside you classes many times. I noticed you use many statements to drive a point home and most of the time, it is prefaced by, 'my daddy said', the wisdom of many of those seemed to fit perfectly. Is that your stuff or really your father's?Sir, my daddy was a COG preacher, he came from a farm and was self educated. When I use daddy said, those were his words. I do wish I could claim them.I know this is unusual, but I need some advice. I am considering retirement.... he went on to tell me his experience, background and some plans. He asked me what I thought would work for him. I was actually dumbfounded. But we talked man to man for over an hour. We stood, shook hands as he THANKED ME FOR MY TIME (which of course was HIS time!). By the way Chief, you had a special Dad, you were fortunate!I know Sir, he was a Godly man.We here on Acts are all blessed to have, and have had Godly people around us.
