Torture no, everlasting punishment... yes.Either that or the following is a blatant lie.Revelation 14:11KJV — And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.Call it what you will, it will in fact be for eternity. The eternal fire from Sodom and Gomorrah is not still burning. Revelation is a highly symbolic book. Even so, hell will be cast into the lake of fire, which is the second death. The wages of son is death. John 3:16gives us two choices and only two. Eternal life or perish. The clinching verse for me is Matthew 10:28....And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.If you were being tortured for ever and ever and ever, why would you fear the one who can kill the soul in hell? Wouldn't welcome that? Of course, you would. But, this verse is not a hypothetical. It is actually what happens. God destroys both body and soul in hell when it is cast into the lake of fire, the second death.
