I mentioned to one of our local liberals here in rural central Florida that South Carolina had elected a conservative black Republican who garnered only 10% of the black vote. His exact words in reply were, You are clearly mistaken. South Carolina Republicans would never elect a non-white to office. I offered to take him to Senator Tim Scott's web page and he refused

That word Racist is a very popular word now-a-days. I've known Racists all my life living in the South. I don't doubt there are many over the USA who feel or say: Send them all back where they came from.But let me tell you from the streets I walk, the places I go, the people I meet they are NOW few and far between with that 'MEAN RACIST' attitude.You are even more protected than I if you do not know that prejudice and racist are DIFFERENT. I am prejudiced toward butterpecan Ice cream. At one time I would not own a Ford product. I can't stand loud mouths. Prejudice and preferences are much different from racism TO ME!
