I believe ABs need to stay in their respective states. During a time of crisis, you need someone at the helm who knows the territory and personnel. This is not a time for an AB and pastor shuffle.Just my opinio

What a wild time.If that's the case, do you think the GA should be held next year, or should they just skip and hold it the year following?

Just wait 2 years. It will give proponents of a 4 year GA a taste of what it will be like plus allow time for financial recovery

I don't have a problem with postponing the GA but the committee still has the freedom to make AB changes as needed

First, it saves the Church of God a good deal of money to hold off for another two years.Second, it saves the local churches the money that they would have given to send their pastor the General Assembly. Some churches can easily afford this; for others it is a sacrifice. Also, without regular church going on, I imagine it has been a rough time on funds for many churches. Literally millions of dollars would be spent by the folks attending the General Assembly (travel, car rentals, hotels, food, etc.), and while this savings is a loss for the city where the GA was to take place, it is, at the same time, a pause that assists the church.

I've been told that the committee will only make the changes that are needed when an AB has been at his post for 12 years. The possibility of an on-line GA is just not there yet. There are too many hurdles to overcome. For instance a simple vote crossing 24 time zones to select one of our executives could take 3-5 days just to seat one nomination. We're thinking the GA is big & for us in the CoG it is, but the same decision is being faced by several other huge denominations who are bigger than us.The GA in Indianapolis might be used as a sight in 2022 but San Antonio has also been in the negotiation status for several month prior to Covic-19.It is my understanding that a short (3 day) date was offered by Indianapolis in 2021 but it was like the weekend of the 4th of July & that wasn't going to work out. The guys in charge of this will get it done & we'll come out ok Empty nest syndrome is for the birds!Email me at: [email protected] planters are focused on just one thing ...introducing people to Jesus!

Nice try, Aaron, but I don't think so! More of Him...less of me.twitter.com/camiracle77www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=691241499&ref=name
