I thought I'd point that out in case you folks haven't made your choice of songs yet. I think I've heard two recent Christmas songs that say that Jesus was born in a manger.It sure would have been cruel to squeeze a pregnant woman into a feed trough to make her give birth. I don't know why song writers who don't know farm terminology don't just read the text before writing the song. Jesus was laid in a manger after he was born

I don't see how having it--or not--changes the unintentional.It's just one of those awkward things like Ronald Reagan related. That didn't force her to give birth in a manger - but maybe she WANTED to.Maybe she was PREDESTINED too.I wasn't there.I DON'T know.who is to say

Who knows how big that manger might have been? What was the alternative, the floor, a milking stool, a pile of hay?
