I thought a promise ring was a promise to keep ones virginity. We have a family member who is shacking up. Here significant other gave her a promise ring. He promised to stay faithful to her.Here is what I found on Google.

I live under a rock, I have never heard of a promise ring. I notice it is not quite an engagement ring, I cannot fit my mind around that.If EVERY family has not faced the 'Living together' (shacking-up to you OLD FOLK lol) they will. Cojak, I know the feeling. In our family we now have the second generation of shacking.Even my sister shaked for about 10 years. Good news is she left the guy and is now back to where she needs to be with the Lord. Yes, the Lord can turn things around. Thank God he turned my life around, April 1970. It seems like I remember hearing of kids back when I was in high school who'd give promise rings. A guy would give his girlfriend a promise ring because he was too young to propose. I've heard of them for virginity, too
