Is this really true? Does this mean there is “nothing in writing†that would ensure equal consideration for all? Just observing from the side on this comment, I think this points out that the written rules can get a spin according to who you are. In the church world we are many times no different than business or politics. And that is to our shame. I can certainly agree that each situation has to be judged on its own merits on a case by case basis. And I am definitely not naive enough to think that in the business world things are not being deliberately skewed one way or another in order to effect the outcome. There is no place for this in the Church however, and it is disheartening to read that it does appears to be happening. Such nepotism does nothing but bring reproach upon both the organization and those responsible for ensuring it treats everyone equally “Hell will be filled with people that didn’t cuss, didn’t drink, and may even have been baptized. Why? Because none of those things makes someone a Christian.”
