If you where planting a church today what value would you see in being apart of a denomination or What value would you see in being independent. I’ve not said anything to my Son in Law and Daughter that are planting because they need to decide for themselves. I see values of relationships in a denomination, but I also have great relationships with the pastors in our city. There are so many great conferences you can get those from a denomination or outside. Our kids went to an independent youth camp this year and they loved it. I’m not sure if my kids ask me what I would say

I planted within the COG and thinking back, it was the best thing I could have done. IT became a very fruitful church. It split a few years ago and neither church is doing great at present, and it hurts me. Those were wonderful folk. Our plant was with the blessings of all pastors in the area and the Overseer. I am not sure if I would have been smart enough to be independent. But also I had only COG as background and ALWAYS had good relations with independents close by. I still think if I were a young preacher I would prefer an organization, even a loose one. Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/
