We are in a small church that was going in the wrong direction. The church property needed serious help (painting, yard maintenance, interior work etc which was done). God's grace is seeing us through many challenges and He is helping us and our core group turn things around. We spent about $70 monthly for the second half of the year boosting posts and other things on Facebook which resulted in about 225 people following us (1 visitor). I have a background in advertising and realize it can take several years before a person is in the buy mode and in our case visit a church mode.Have any of you tried boosting information on Facebook and was it worth it?Do you know other online methods or other ideas to get the church out there?Do these internet promotions provide more bang for the buck when compared to advertising in local papers? Are the Google or other promotional methods worth it?We are doing many free local announcements online but do you know of any free national media options?

I have studied this more than actually doing it. In a nonchurch related activity I was able to get many, many likes before. They are cheaper out of the US. But no sales .Facebook and google ads are really targeted. You can adverise, ask them for email then put them on a list. For example, you have a barbecue, VBS or a Kanye concert. Advertise and let people opt in for announcements about other special events or community events. You could send out occasional spiritual emails. Let them opt out of part of the emails. Target emails to their needs--kids, etc.I am thinking of your targetting seekers and those not attending church. You could also run ads for those who know they are going to helll if you want to evangelize
